I Miss You - Jag saknar dig

Anders Grönros’ film”Jag saknar dig” (I Miss You) is based on the novel by Peter Pohl (”Jag saknar dig, jag saknar dig”, 1992).
Otava has published the novel in Finnish in 1997 under the title ”Sinä ja minä ikuisesti”.
The novel and the film are based on real life, on the experiences and diary of Kinna Gieth, a teenage girl living I a small Swedish town.

The film tells about the 13-year-old Tiina, whose twin sister dies in an accident. Half of Tiina’s personality vanishes, and the film tells how she is trying to live through the hopelessness and sorrow so that she would not die of despair herself.

The greatest thing in this story is that it is not heavy or gloomy but a story full of hope. It is a story about the most important things in life; about things that Tiina never used to even talk about. After this tragic experience Tiina is ready to accept the warmth and love of her friends; she ready to be a strong person.

”Jag saknar dig (I Miss You)” is a film about the youth for the youth. The director, Anders Grönros, says that young people demand films which take them seriously. In this film they are taken seriously as it is about love and death, the great issues of life.

The director, Anders Grönros (born in 1953), has directed e.g. “Glasblåsarens barn” (The Glasblower’s Children), and he has been awarded e.g. with a Guldbagge Prize for best director.

The Mother of the twin sisters is played by Finnish actress Birthe Wingren, and the Finnish Rauno Ronkainen is the cinematographer.

The film is produced by Swedish Göta Film AB / Christer Nilsson and Garage Film / Malte Forsell with Kinoproduction Oy as a co-producer.
The film shall be released in the autumn of 2010.
